Hey there, I'm Yoran, a venture capitalist.

I'm currently at Inovia Capital$2.5B AUM pre-seed to pre-IPO global VC, a $2.5B VC firm where I focus on pre-seed and fund-of-fund investing, backing breakout VCs like GarageEarly investor in Groq, Substack, & Ada, WayfinderEarly investor in Supabase, Leya, & Decagon, GTMfundEarly investor in Vanta, Writer, & Owner and category-leading companies like Cohere, Poolside, and Tera AI.

Prior to this, I was the first hire building Defined Capital, an early-stage data and AI VC firm, where I helped author the firm's whitepaper and investment thesis, The AI Frontier is Shaping Tomorrow, and helped write our first series of investments.

In a past life, I was also building a data-analytics startup in The Residency in San Francisco, and spent some time managing the compute and biomedical engineering programs at Creative Destruction Labs, a global deeptech accelerator.

I studied at UBC and conducted AI empathy research under Yann Cornil.
